Visit to Washington and Oregon, September 2018

Suzanne's NAWBO Conference was in Spokane this year and Kevin had just moved to Shoreline WA, so we decided to take a few weeks to wander around the northwest corner of the US. We flew into SEATAC and picked up a car, but no camping gear this trip. After checking out Kevin's new digs, we headed east to Spokane, stopping on the way to visit a high school friend in Wenatchee. After the Spokane conference we headed southwest to visit Rod's cousin in Ashland OR, then up to Depoe Bay OR for a visit with friends from the WSU era currently living in the Portland area. Then back north to see Kevin again before flying back to NJ.

We did manage to see a bit of the scenery along the way, as the weather was generally better than we expected.

Rod enjoyed greatly his respite from cook for 3+ weeks. Although at his advanced age he had difficulty remembering all the restaurant meals along the way, he does remember an excellent Chirashi Bowl at Sumo Japanese Restaurant in Wenatchee WA and an excellent Lemongrass Beef at La Sen Vietnamese Grill in West Lynn OR.
