Road trip: North Carolina: Asheville, John C. Campbell Folks School, camping

Suzanne and a friend wanted to take a class (Etching) at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC, so we drove in a leisurely manner befitting our entry into our 7th decade. Highlights along the way included an afternoon in Winchester VA old town, walking along part of the New River Trail State Park out of the trail head in Pulaski VA, walking part of the Virginia Creeper Rail Trail out of Abingdon VA, Suzanne and a friend touring Asheville NC while Rod camped along the Blue Ridge Parkway and in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and a day in Washington DC for Suzanne to join NAWBO peers telling lawmakers at the national level how to run the country.
