Trip to Louisiana March 2014 for Rod's 50th High School Reunion

Family might like to look at these photos - others may have less interest.

We took to the road in late March, hoping to walk a few trails along the way. Not so nice weather in Virginia, so only saw the trailheads on the New River Trail State Park , but we can now confirm that rail trail as being a candidate for future exploration. In Mississippi we managed a short walk on the Longleaf Trace on a fine spring day, topped off with the first BBQ of the trip at Dickey's BBQ in Hattiesburg - very good. Arrived in Moss Bluff for a couple of days with Suzanne's brother Don before the reunion. Then to Lafayette for the Lafayette High School Class of 1964 50th reunion and visiting with Rod's sister and family. Back to Moss Bluff for a couple more days, then a return to NJ. One stop at the Tammany Trace rail trail for a short walk - another candidate for future biking adventures. Another stop in TN to change a blown tire in a lightning storm - less fun.

Best food of the trip at the lunch buffet at the Isle of Capri casino in Lake Charles, after hours of beachcombing on the Gulf around Cameron, LA.
