10 day cruise from Seattle on Norweigan Joy to Alaska




Timeline:
September 7 - fly to Seattle. Three nights pre-cruise at The Charter Hotel on 2nd Avenue in downtown Seattle.
September 10 11:30 am to September 19 8:00 am - Cruising on Norwegian Joy. Stops in Sitka AK, Juneau AK, Skagway AK, Ketchikan AK, and Victoria BC.
September 20 - visit Kevin. September 21 - return to NJ.


Downtown Seattle was interesting, with clear weather and lots of opportunity to walk around the tourist areas. Cruising was as expected - too many people and too little of actual interest for us on the ship itself. Even the unlimited soda/alcohol wasn't enough to make up for the mostly ordinary fare being served, with few memorable exceptions. Rod did like the BBQ at the ship's reservation only Q's Texas Smokehouse. We did get to see lots of totem poles, and the raptor center in Sitka was actually quite interesting. We also enjoyed the butterfly gardens and Buchart Gardens in Victoria.
