After leaving Boulder UT and the llamas behind, we visited Las Vegas (no pictures), Sequoia National Park, Yosemite National Park, Point Reyes National Seashore, and friends in Arcata CA.

The first stop in Sequoia Park was at Moro Rock. We climbed the countless steps up to the lookout point and took pictures of the High Sierras.

One of many pictures of big trees, which were often surrounded by lupine.

We made the obligatory photo of Yosemite Valley from Inspiration Point.

Due to the large volume of visitors, much of the valley floor is now accessable only via shuttle bus, and Mirror Lake requires a hike even from the closest shuttle bus stop.

Hiking to Mirror Lake did allow us to get far enough from people to find a suitable rock for a camera tripod.

We drove to Petaluma above San Francisco and took day trips, one to sample the local farm produce, including spoiled grape juice, and another to Point Reyes National Seashore. Here Suzanne is looking over Drakes Beach at Point Reyes.

Walking on the beach, we found another suitable rock formation.

While the beach was sunny, the fog made it impossible to see the actual lighthouse on the point, but made for an interesting walk along the access road to the beginning of the steps to the lighthouse.
